Well here we are, halfway through 2010 and the team is now racing in the new KITS! This is exciting news as many big Ironman races are coming up: Lake Placid, Louisville and Wisconsin. There has been a lot of activity the last few weeks, including many more qualifiers for Kona and Clearwater!
Our weekend at Coeur d'Alene was fantastic. For the first time, we got to meet Elizabeth Thiel and Jared Wilson, both of which grabbed Kona slots. We also watched Geoff L'Heureux get another slot this year, so 2 years in a row he is Kona-bound.
With this said, my goal and challenge this year is the same: To race Ironman Kansas and Lake Stevens 70.3 and then finish the year with another Ironman Arizona. Another goal and challenge is to raise enough money for the Boys and Girls Clubs and win the Kestrel 4000. We’ll see.
Kansas was a nightmare for me, but still a great race. The heat and humidity really messed up the bike and the day for me, but I survived to race another day. Lake Stevens is in a few weeks, and I think we will have 6-8 Baker's athletes racing there, should be another podium-fest for us. I will keep you posted.
The new Team Kits are getting rave reviews! I really like the new color scheme as well, I think they will really get noticed out there on the course.
Thanks again to the team for kicking so much butt out there!
See you at the races,
Bryan
